 Leave behind a big enough impression in the snow so that if anyone is following you, or should someone be lost, they can follow your steps, saving the followers half the labor and providing the lost with the knowledge that they are on the path to safety, where they previously thought they would perish. Either way, only one person needs to wear the shoes, and no one needs to see his face.
